The scheduled Second semester examinations of the University of Abuja
could not hold Monday as the students took over the gates of the
permanent site, venue of the examinations, protesting the
non-accreditation of some faculties even as school authorities insisted
the institution had not been shut.
It will be recalled that some few months ago same protest took place
when the National Universities Commission proscribed some faculties of
the university stating that some of those faculties lacked basic
requirements for the school authorities to offer the courses. The students in their thousands took over the gates as early as 6am Monday preventing staff and others from gaining entrance into the school.
